2010 Butterfly Rally — Fun!
September 18, 2010 was a beautiful day, if a bit warm. But there were 25 cars that came for the rally to support Texas Discovery Gardens. I asked for sponsors for my car and was able to raise $105. Every $5 supports one child in TDG’s educational programs, so my sponsors donated slots for 21 kids to enjoy learning about nature.
It wasn’t a race, but a stop at a bunch of different places where we got a log page stamped and picked out a playing card. When we got back to TDG, the highest poker hand won. Denise (my navigator — and photographer!) and I didn’t win, but we weren’t out to win. We were out to have fun driving BeBop around Dallas with all the other Smart cars.
When we finished the drive, we were able each release a butterfly into their indoor garden, then we had lunch and headed home. Fun time! Hope to do it again next year.
