I’m soon going to move into a new stage of my life. On January 14, 2016, I’m officially (whatever that means) moving into the status of “retired.” That’s both an exciting and a scary thing, but I’ve been feeling for a while now that I’m ready to spend more time doing things I’ve not been able to do so much of with a full-time job.

One of those things is TRAVEL!

I have already scheduled a three-week long hiking trip in New Zealand and a one-week trip to Cuba. After that, I’ll take stock of how my finances are going and decide if I’m ready for another big trip or some smaller ones. And after a couple of trips, I expect to have a bunch of photographs to work with, so I’m going to be learning more about both my new camera (Canon 7D Mark II) and the software I need to really make those good photographs great. (One hopes, anyway! 🙂 )
