Glacier National Park: Two Medicine
The next day we checked out of the Many Glacier Hotel and headed south. We planned a stop in Two Medicine and then were going all the way south around the park to West Glacier.
Matt and Kay were kind enough to enhance the Two Medicine sign at that entrance. The lake was really pretty, though the day was very windy, which you can see from the waves. And I couldn’t resist an intriguing piece of driftwood.
The nature trail hike here was Running Eagle Falls–just 0.3 mile, but to a really unique sight. The falls come down from above behind the rock, perhaps accounting for their other name, “Trick Falls.” Again the water was clear blue-green and just beautiful.
If we needed a reminder that we were in bear country, the bark on the tree we saw on the way out reminded us. It showed a clear paw scratch. Whew!
The leaves on Aspen and Birch trees were turning gorgeous yellow. The last picture here shows some of the color but didn’t catch how brilliant it was.
